Since OpenFOAM is a far-developed code, it is difficult to get started with OpenFOAM's source code. Ultimately, the reward is not having to work with a black box (and I hate having to work with a black box), and is therefore worth the hassle.

Revision as of 16:25, 24 March 2016

My name is Kevin van As (born 1992 in The Netherlands), and I am working as a PhD student within the Transport Phenomena Group (dept. Chem. Eng.) at TU Delft.

I studied BSc Applied Physics in 2010-2013 at TU Delft, followed by the MSc Applied Physics in 2013-2015, and graduated both with distinction.

I became affiliated with OpenFOAM in (August) 2014 during my internship, and am now using it during my PhD. The main thing I like about OpenFOAM is that it is open source: It is possible to have full control over everything you do.
